Scorpion stings and envenomation are a public health problem in many countries around the world. In Tunisia, there are 30,000 to 45,000 victims of scorpion envenomation each year. Worldwide, approximately 40,000 deaths are recorded each year. In the Mahres region and its provinces, scorpion envenomation is a real social scourge.Tunisian health institutions have identified scorpion envenomation as a real public health concern that particularly threatens the rural population, especially in the southern and central regions of Tunisia. For years, the Minister of Public Health has implemented a national anti-scorpion protocol to reduce the morbidity and mortality caused by this pathology and to rationalize public health expenditure. In light of these data, this study was conducted with the following objectives:- To identify the population attending the Mahres emergency department for scorpion envenomation, its epidemiological characteristics, its clinical and paraclinical features, and the therapeutic modalities adopted.- To identify the predictive factors for hospitalization.
