Scots Heraldry in Focus: A Critical Review

Scots Heraldry In Focus is a comprehensive exploration of Scottish heraldry with a focus on current practices. This book offers a unique perspective on the subject, challenging traditional views and encouraging readers to develop their own clear-eyed understanding of Scottish heraldry. The foreword provided by Rev. Canon Dr. Joseph J, Murrow, Lord Lyon King of Arms, adds authoritative context to this insightful work. While covering basic heraldry, the book places emphasis on current practice. The author, drawing from years of experience, presents his findings on Sir Thomas's opinions and the limits of the Lord Lyon's authority in heraldic matters. Some may find these views opinionated or idiosyncratic, but Gaylor sees them as logically unavoidable and hopes to inspire others to form their own informed opinions on Scottish heraldry.
