Scout Gillett No Roof Floor (CD)

Scout Gillett’s album No Roof No Floor is a limited edition LP released on coloured vinyl, showcasing her distinct blend of indie rock and folk. Issued in 2022, it captures a spacious, intimate sound that feels both vulnerable and quietly intense, with Gillett’s voice often at the center of sparse yet textured arrangements. The production emphasizes atmosphere and mood, allowing subtle guitar work, gentle percussion, and occasional experimental touches to create a sense of openness that matches the album’s title. Across the record, Gillett’s songwriting leans into confessional storytelling, exploring emotional uncertainty, self-discovery, and the search for grounding in unstable times. The performances feel live and organic, often giving the impression of a band playing close together in a room, which enhances the raw honesty of the lyrics and delivery. As a coloured vinyl limited edition LP, No Roof No Floor also appeals to collectors, pairing its carefully crafted, genre-blurring indie rock and folk sound with a visually striking physical format that underscores its personal, handcrafted character.
