Seasonal Dreamer

Seasonal Dreamer: Home Is In My Suitcase is a powerful memoir about sacrifice, resilience, and the pursuit of a better future.Jermaine Andre Howard shares his personal journey as a seasonal worker traveling to the United States under the H-2B visa program. Leaving behind family, comfort, and familiarity, he enters a demanding world of long hours, cultural challenges, and emotional distance from loved ones.Through stories of hard work in restaurants and resorts, language barriers, shared housing, and moments of loneliness, the author reveals the strength required to endure life far from home. Yet within those struggles are lessons about determination, growth, and the dignity of honest labor. This book is a tribute to the millions of seasonal workers around the world who cross borders with hope, sacrifice comfort for opportunity, and carry their dreams; and their homes, in a suitcase.
