The fourth volume of the Selected Works includes three writings. The first is a collection of short stories about love, "At First Sight."The second part of the volume, "Sad Stories of Music," presents the author's recollections of his years of musical study and of the later period, when music had become quite distant from his professional pursuits. The third part is a scientific-literary composition, "Relativism in Language and Thought." It consists of four chapters. The first chapter contains a description of the relativist concept of language. It addresses the most general problems, including the concepts of the individual language, the national language, and the normative language, as well as the issues of language development. The subsequent chapters discuss the relativity of processes in language and thought within the context and in the interrelation of the concept of relativism.
