Bol This book examines the serving behaviour of world-class male tennis players at the 2016 US Open. The author included all men's matches from the round of 16 onwards in his analysis and examined them in terms of the following parameters: serve distribution for first and second serves, win rates for individual serves, serve speed with a particular focus on possible causes for the differences in speed observed, differences between the serving behaviour of serving specialists and players with 'weaker serves', and a comparison with previous findings regarding serving behaviour over the last 10 years. In all analyses, serves were categorised into the wide, body and T zones to obtain comprehensive and nuanced results. Following the evaluation and interpretation of the results, the author is able to make recommendations on how training should be structured in future and which changes might have positive effects on the athletes' performance.
