Sexual abuse of primary school aged children: With particular regard to preventive measures in the classroom

This book explores the question of which preventive measures can be implemented in primary school education to ensure that children benefit from them in the long term. It also describes the role of the teacher when sexual abuse is suspected. The consequences for the child's development and the ways in which these manifest are outlined in the study, as they are observable from the outside and thus provide an initial indication of suspected child sexual abuse. To dispel myths such as: 'Watch out for nasty, strange men! They're dangerous,' the work clearly demonstrates that all adults can be perpetrators, but equally, all children can become victims. The paper describes how a teacher should act in the event of a suspicion. It is important here that the child's welfare is at the centre of all actions. Materials are described and presented to counteract the social taboo surrounding 'sexuality'.
