Show Me the Way to Go Home

Suki and Loretta meet in the desolate landscape of the Tule Lake Relocation Camp in 1942, and their friendship blossoms into a forbidden romantic love. Amid increasing racial violence and uprisings in the camp, the U.S. army implements martial law, and a large, looming fence is erected between the administration and the rest of the camp.Loretta is on the Caucasian side of the fence where her parents work for the administration. Suki is on the Japanese side as an inmate. Separated, unable to come and go freely, they struggle to sustain their relationship. Suki discovers human rights atrocities in the camp's prison, and has illegal photos to prove it. She needs to get the photos to the media outside of camp. Loretta is the only person she dares to ask for help, but it's a dangerous proposition. It might save them, or it might cost their freedom.
