Shropshire Mysteries- Bones of Caer Caradoc

Two bodies. One ancient hillfort. Fifteen years of deadly secrets.Inside the ramparts of Caer Caradoc, archaeologists lift the lid of an Iron Age cist and find bones too recent, to belong there. Below them, in a cave beneath the summit, a hailstorm has driven Marianne Leonard to shelter - and her dogs are dragging something heavy and tarpaulin-wrapped out of the dark.DI Georgie Fraser knows this hill in every weather. Now it has given up two bodies in one afternoon, and she is supposed to be on leave. The fort stands on Stedman land, and land here means favours owed and old protection - a father who kept his position when allegations against him should have ended it, a son who spent years guarding a secret that was never really his to keep.A child went into the ground within sight of a path people walk every day. Georgie is about to make someone answer for that.Compelling, atmospheric, and rich in rural detail, Bones of Caer Caradoc is a gripping Shropshire mystery about grief, vengeance, and the secrets etched into the hills.
