Small Town Connecticut

Small Town Connecticut takes readers on a journey through 50 of the state's most unforgettable small towns and villages--places where church bells continued to ring from a flood-submerged town, where Babe Ruth crashed his Packard in Wallingford, and where a mysterious grave marked merely "XYZ" still draws visitors to Deep River. From the quarry workers who shaped Stony Creek to the Impressionist artists who gathered at Cos Cob's Bush-Holley House, these communities were built by generations of adventurers, makers, and dreamers. Each chapter uncovers founding stories, legendary residents, intriguing lore, beloved attractions and seasonal events that make these towns worth the detour. Whether you are planning a day trip to a new destination or rediscovering a favorite haunt, author Bekah Wright invites you to slow down and explore the Connecticut that locals love best.
