SMART GLASSES ENGINEERING: Sensors, displays, cameras, and wearable computing systems

SMART GLASSES ENGINEERING Smart glasses bring together sensors, cameras, displays, processors, wireless communication, optical components, and software within a compact wearable platform. Understanding how these technologies work together requires knowledge from several areas of engineering and computing. SMART GLASSES ENGINEERING explores the technical principles behind wearable eyewear systems and examines how hardware and software components are integrated to create connected, interactive devices. Readers will explore: - The fundamental architecture of smart glasses - Sensors used to detect movement, position, and environmental conditions - Cameras and image-capture systems in wearable devices - Display technologies and visual information systems - Optical components and considerations for wearable displays - Embedded processors and computing hardware - Wireless communication and device connectivity - Power management and battery considerations - Software and user-interface integration - Hands-free interaction and wearable computing - Hardware and software system integration >The book examines smart glasses as an integrated engineering system rather than as a collection of individual components. Sensors collect information, processors analyze data, cameras capture images, displays present information, and software coordinates the behavior of the device. It also explores the engineering challenges involved in balancing computing capability, optical performance, power consumption, device size, connectivity, and user interaction within a wearable form factor. >The book is intended for educational and technical purposes and focuses on the underlying concepts used to understand and design wearable computing systems.
