It is the capital of Sochaczew County. Sochaczew has a narrow-gauge railway museum with a line that runs out as far as Wilcze Tüowskie. Steam trains run back and forth on the line on Saturdays from spring to the end of summer. Although the line is 750mm gauge, there is a number of static exhibits in the museum of narrower and broader gauge.
