Sofian Chahed

Sofian Chahed (born 18 April 1983) is a Tunisian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Hannover 96. Chahed was born in Berlin, West Germany, and he holds dual German-Tunisian nationality. Chahed made his professional debut for Hertha BSC in 2003, and was released at the end of the 2009 season. Chahed signed on 18 August 2009 for Hannover 96. Chahed played for Germany at the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship and was initially meant to be a German footballer. However, Chahed benefited from a late FIFA rule which allows players of double nationality to switch sides after the Youth stage. Chahed decided to switch sides between the German national team and the Tunisian national team.
