Soul's Journey

Soul's Journey began as a poem written for the author's husband, Sydnor, near the end of his life. From his hospice bed at home, he read the poem, set it down, and said it would make a great title for a book. It was not the title the author had planned, but he was right. From the moment we are born, life becomes a journey shaped by family, relationships, and lived experiences. Along the way, we encounter joy and sorrow, smooth paths and unexpected turns. What we choose to do with our time matters, and how we live can make a meaningful difference. Inspired by these reflections and her husband's insight, the author brings together a collection of poems and personal writings that trace the landscape of her own life. The book opens with family stories rooted in Kentucky and northern Alabama, offering a multigenerational portrait of love, tradition, and resilience, including a cherished custard recipe passed down from her great grandmother.
