Sounds of Resistance: A Description of the Content of Songs from the National Strikes in Colombia (2019 and 2021) in Light of Media Representations, is a descriptive documentary study based on the hermeneutic method, conducted by Mónica Cuervo Prados, PhD, of RedComed (Communication and Education Network) in Canada, and Juan Carlos Córdoba Laguna, PhD, of the Social Communication-Journalism program at Jorge Tadeo Lozano University. This study describes, compares, and analyzes the narratives of these musical compositions, their mediations, and their alternative forms of circulation and dissemination during the pandemic at that time. It also highlights, through the lens of music and culture, how the so-called social uprisings that occurred almost simultaneously in various parts of the world have generated complex political, economic, and social processes that persist to this day and must be analyzed in detail.
