Souvenir Heart: 3

A simmering, sensual historical romance inspired by the only recorded escape from Paris's Conciergerie during the French Revolution. An impetuous artist locked in a notorious prison, a taciturn English viscount turned spy who must win her trust to set her free...Widowed aristocratic beauty Marguerite de Rouvroy knows its madness to remain in Revolutionary France. But the brilliant artist is days away from achieving her life-long dream of seeing her paintings exhibited at the Louvre. That is, until one of her sketches leads to her arrest, and a sentence of death...There's never been an escape from the Conciergerie, but that won't stop Marcus Tyndal, master forger, skilled fighter, and leader of an elite team of spies. Nor will the unsettling stir of long-suppressed passions when he sees Marguerite's self-portrait. Still, Marcus isn't prepared for the way his plans go awry when he discovers his would-be damsel in distress is a headstrong beauty with plan for escape of her own...Still reeling from the betrayal that led to her arrest, Marguerite has no intention of trusting her life to a stranger, no matter how wickedly handsome. To win her trust, and her heart, Marcus will have to do the one thing he fears most-break down the walls surrounding his own heart.
