Spinoza and Islam

The work considers Spinoza's view of the creator of the universe and the extent to which Spinoza's reflections, through his book Ethics, intersect with Islamic philosophical thought, in particular the mystical approach, presenting some examples such as Muhyiddin Ibn al-Arabi, al-Ghazali and al-Hallaj. The work anticipates that the philosophers' and mystics' idea of God is not just a historical stage in the history of religious thought, but rather it is man's developed vision of God that will survive into the future, as he will be liberated from the familiar ideas of peoples that bind him to religions.
