Starry Murder

An idyllic old lodge. A brutal murder. A priceless jewel, missing. Two mysterious events unfold in the heart of the snowy hills of Shimla-a woman is murdered, and the most magnificent jewel in the world-the Star of Jodhpur-is missing. Rumour has it that the Star is so stunning that it drives people mad with desire, and corrupts all those who see it. A beautiful young woman, Prachi Pandit, is discovered with her head bashed in and dangling inside the broken surface of a frozen lake. Shockingly, Prachi is found clutching the chain that once held the Star. The snow has trapped everyone-no one can leave, and no help is forthcoming. Enter temperamental Sam Contractor, a young police officer visiting the lodge for what he hopes will be a relaxing, uneventful holiday. As he reluctantly takes charge of the investigation, he must confront more than the chilling weather. With pressure mounting and time running out, he faces a web of lies, jealousy, and deceit. Amidst the chaos unleashed by murder and theft, personal relationships, capabilities, and friendships-both old and new-are tested. Will Sam be able to catch Prachi's murderer?
