Start The Party

Het nieuwe The Blackout album Start The Party is één grote explosie van energie met elf grootst klinkende nummers die vol enthousiasme worden gebracht. 'Want', zo zegt zanger Gavin Butler, 'Music can be a great form of escapism and we tried to fully encapsulate that with this record.There's a lot of bands out there at the moment that do deal with this depression and the shit state of the world, but that's just not us. We wanted to write about enjoying yourself and not worrying about things. Take a half hour out of your life, switch off and hear something fun!' Oftwel, Start The Party! The Blackout werd in 2003 in het zuiden van Wales opgericht en wist van haar eerste drie albums in Groot-Brittannië bijna 60.000 stuks te verkopen. De band tourde meerdere malen door het land als onderdeel van de Kerrang! Tour en deelde het podium met bands als My Chemical Romance, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, All Time Low en Lostprophets. Zoals vele genregenoten heeft ook The Blackout een trouwe aanhang die met het jaar groeit. Inmiddels bereikt de band online meer dan 100.000 mensen en staat het aantal videoplays op meer dan een miljoen. Het laatste album Hope uit 2011 werd deels door de fans betaald via het Pledge systeem.
