God is not silent. We are loud. Most devotionals set out to teach you how to hear God. This one starts somewhere else - on the assumption that He has been speaking the whole time, plainly and often, and that the trouble is on our end. Still Enough to Hear is a full year of daily readings: one opening entry and fifty-two weeks of seven. There are no calendar dates. Start on the day you open it, whether that is the second of January or the eleventh of August. If you miss three days, do not go back and make them up. Read today's. Half a page. The verse from Day 1 comes back, and there is almost nothing to read. That seventh day is not filler. A book about silence should be quiet once a week. The year moves in four parts - Learning to Be Quiet, Learning to Listen, Learning to Answer, Learning to Stay - and ends where it began: with a name said out loud.
