Bol A brief description of included poems is the best way to describe this book. "Still Life with Homeless Men" (the title poem) relates actual interactions between the narrator and several homeless men outside the Art Institute of Chicago. "Shallow Pool" details dramatic, real life, sometimes potentially life & death, events, in which the narrator observes (& sometimes interacts with) small, usually overlooked, vulnerable, living beings in a concrete, shallow pool of water. "That Glorious Line" is about the narrator waiting in line with the Chosen Ones at the Port of Entry Gilded Gate to get a ticket to the Golden Gated Community. "The Cloisters" relates a wild conversation between two drunk monks on their way to the annual "Brethren Brotherly Love Shindig." "Thoughts of Eternal Things" is set in ancient Greece, in which the narrator suggests to Plato that he should create a rap group with Socrates (who has the biggest mouth) as the lead rapper. Still Life with Homeless Men includes 11 original B&W images and 5 wild, often funny poems, and is composed in the unique, home-grown style of all my poetry-"organic naturalism" (poems that are deceptively simple, direct, non-synthetic, non-AI-deformed, non-boring, and often humorous and entertaining). Near the end of this book, there's an image of a bookshelf constructed of six rocks. Titles of each of my poetry books in my series, The Concise Poetry Works of T.N. Turner, are displayed as etched into a rock. Please check out each of these books. Thank you for reading this description of Still Life with Homeless Men, T.N. Turner
