This volume is the first Spanish-language publication in the Studies in Periodical Cultures series and is devoted entirely to the Latin American cultural sphere, which is characterized by a high degree of cultural diversity. Journals and Magazines serve as fascinating prisms through which this diversity can be viewed. 14 contributions in a total of five sections offer an excellent insight into the current methods and issues in a highly dynamic field of research. They range from the early phase of independence in the 19th century to the present day and offer insights not only into the Spanish-speaking cultural sphere, but also into the Portuguese-speaking cultural area (Brazil). The volume is aimed at both specialists and a general audience.
