surface hydrology: Principles, methods and tools for water management

This scientific and educational work covers the theoretical foundations and practical applications of hydrology, structured into six chapters covering: introduction to the water cycle and water balance, morphometric and hydrographic characteristics of watersheds, evaporation and infiltration processes, measurement and spatial analysis of precipitation, hydrometry and hydrological regimes, and finally statistical and probabilistic methods applied to hydrology. It is set in an Algerian and Mediterranean context marked by the increasing scarcity of water resources and climate change, with the dual aim of supporting students in hydraulics and environmental engineering in their scientific learning, and raising their awareness of water conservation from a sustainable development perspective.
