Voice rehabilitation for patients who have undergone total laryngectomy has evolved significantly over the past 30 years thanks to the development of voice implants, which enable the production of a tracheoesophageal voice. The aim of this study is to provide an overview of current surgical trends in voice implant placement and to define the speech-language therapy protocols that facilitate optimal tracheoesophageal voice training.
