Sustainable Water Management in the Semi arid Region: Wastewater Treatment and Agricultural Reuse

This book addresses sustainable water management in the Brazilian semi-arid region, highlighting the challenges associated with water scarcity, irregular rainfall and limited sanitation infrastructure. The book discusses the importance of proper wastewater treatment as a strategy for environmental protection, promoting public health and increasing water availability. Based on a literature review and technical analysis, concepts are presented on basic sanitation, the impacts of the lack of sewage treatment and the potential for agricultural reuse of treated effluents.
