This book presents a comprehensive application of the Taguchi robust design methodology to optimize the mechanical properties of experimental dental composite resins (EDCR) reinforced with nano-hydroxyapatite (nHA) as the primary bioactive filler, in combination with zirconia (ZrO¿) and silica/glass secondary fillers within a Bis-GMA/TEGDMA matrix.Employing L9 orthogonal arrays, three control factors (nHA, ZrO¿, and silica/glass percentages) at three levels each were systematically varied across 9 experimental runs. Mechanical properties-compressive strength, flexural strength, Vickers microhardness, and two-body wear resistance-were evaluated following standardized protocols (ASTM D695, ISO 4049, ASTM E384, and tribological simulation). Signal-to-noise (S/N) ratios (larger-the-better for strength and hardness; smaller-the-better for wear), main effects plots, and analysis of variance (ANOVA) identified optimal formulations and quantified factor contributions.
