Tales From Miss Molly Marbles

Miss Molly Marbles is a retired botanist—someone who studies plants. She has sparkling blue eyes, wire-frame glasses, snow-white hair, and cherub cheeks. She uses a walking stick rather than a cane to assist her in getting around. And she is very passionate about animals, endangered species, and the health of the environment. Tales from Miss Molly Marbles presents a series of stories focusing on social and environmental issues. In “Crooked Tail,” a chipmunk named Flora, who lives under Miss Molly’s back porch, gets injured when her tail gets caught in the porch’s screen door. “The Heist” follows Crafty Fox and Bandit the raccoon as they make a plan to kidnap Mother Rabbit’s three baby bunnies and make them work as nannies and housekeepers. In “Palooza Time,” Miss Molly holds a party for her animal friends and makes an important announcement. Designed to encourage conversations about various issues, this collection of children’s stories features a conservationist and her animal friends and explores the ways our actions can have a lasting impact on others and the environment.
