Tarot Celebrations

Geraldine Amaral & Naney Brady Cunningham offer creative CT methods to celebrate the powerful gift of knowledge inherent in the 22 Major Arcana of the tarot. The symbolism of the tarot corresponds to the archetypes of the collective unconscious, and therefore has much to teach us about the many levels of human experience. The exercises and meditations for each of the Major Arcana harness this ancient symbolism and take you deep into the energy of each card, so the power and meaning of individual symbols are drawn from the subconscious into consciousness. Ultimately what occurs is an inner transformation that can help us live more fulfilling lives. The first part of the book, “The Call of Ancient Voices,” explores the definition of tarot and archetypes and the various uses of each. Particular emphasis is placed on the healing properties of these symbols and how the tarot can be used as a tool for bypassing the ego and communing with the higher self. Amaral and Cunningham touch upon the theories of C. G. Jung, especially his theories of wholeness, healing, and the wisdom of the unconscious mind, showing the correlation between Jung's archetypes and the symbolism of the tarot. Part II contains a concise history and explanation of each card’s symbolism, and exercises or meditations that demonstrate the card’s unique energy. This creative, multi-faceted approach allows the reader to fully explore the profound meaning of the cards. Includes eight sample layouts geared to those just beginning to read the cards to solve specific problems. This book is illustrated with the MorganGreer deck, but it can also be used with the popular Waite deck.
