Teaching and Supporting Learning in Further Education

This practical text has been written in response to the development of national standards by FENTO (Further Education National Training Organisation) for the qualification of new and in-service teachers in further education. It supports all those working towards a FENTO-endorsed qualification and provides guidance and materials to help teachers meet the standards of practice at all three stages - introduction, intermediate and certification - of their professional development by: mapping the standards against teachers' day-to-day practice; demonstrating how evidence of skills and knowledge can be gathered and presented for accreditation; providing case studies and practical tasks to help develop and demonstrate professional expertise; emphasising and modelling reflective practice to help teachers review and advance their own development.
