TEN SORROWFUL SHORT STORIES: TEARS OF A WOMB is a collection of author's ten Short Stories written on various dates over years at different locations. Through these Short Stories, the author views the anguishes, pains and helplessness of men, women, children and the old in everyday lives who are engaged in different activities. Helplessness and utter pain visit people in various walks of life without knowing or warning, whether they are young, children, adult or old, either men or woman. 'WHEN MEMORIES ROOST', deals with an old man troubled by the loss of his memories, whereas in 'THE VETERAN', too much memories hurt him. The lady at her old age is troubled by the loss of her own home and was forced to live as an orphan. In NEVER-ENDING NIGHT', the nurse reverberates the losses and gains of her life. "A BIRDS SORROW' tells us how Pelee-Pelee makes friendship with Peter, a tenant in an apartment during the death of its partner, and finally it loses its human friend when it migrates the next year. "HOLES IN THE OZONE' describes forest fire in the US. The child was wrongly punished by an authority who thinks that she is always right, and others are lower creations bound to accept her knowledge. 'LOW FLYING VULTURES' reminds the foolishness of people. A skewed criminal trial and the pain it creates in young ones are depicted in "A VERDICT REACHED'. The unemployed persons' and the safely employed pleasure-seekers' daily lives are portrayed in 'THE JOB FAIR'. The sadism and illiteracy of the rich that degrades human lives are portrayed in 'THIRTY SILVER COINS'. Each story tells different sad story.
