The water harvesting techniques presented below have been validated in semi-arid areas deserving of development support. They are:1) four development techniques for water harvesting: underground dams, artisanal hill lakes, rice swamp areas, and terraced irrigated plots; 2) three water mobilisation techniques: manual drilling, the 'semi-Californian' system, and the siphon;3) two adapted artisanal tools: the water level and the manual auger;4) three other proposals: Maralfalfa irrigated fodder, floodplain crops, and plate cisterns.
