Bol The construction industry is a high-risk sector, with the fifth highest number of occupational accidents in Brazil (42,769 recorded in 2023) and the second most lethal, according to the Social Security Statistical Yearbook (2023). This study assesses compliance with Regulatory Standard No. 18 (NR-18), proposing innovations in the safety assessment tool with the use of Environmental Risk Analysis Methods and the use of Technologies in Construction. The research, of an exploratory qualitative nature, was carried out at an IFMA construction site in Maranhão. The study found that the service was minimally compliant with safety measures, but revealed the need for significant improvements in risk analysis. The book thus highlights the extreme importance of innovating ways of identifying and analyzing occupational risks for better control and mitigation, with a view to worker safety.
