Our work focuses on the function or role of television in shaping political figures, especially during election campaigns. Our aim is to analyze the influence exerted by Télé Ginen on potential voters in order to shape voters' choices during the 2016 election campaigns in Haiti. This objective addresses the need to understand the relationship between the media landscape and the Haitian political class through the medium of television. The forms of social representation produced by television are often deployed by political leaders through representational strategies. This also involves manufactured images that serve to reaffirm the identity of the political figure in question by overemphasizing markers of belonging. This study drew on a corpus of images consisting of television programs featuring Jovenel Moïse, including a commercial aired by a Haitian television network during the 2016 election campaigns.
