THE ADVENTURES OF ATHOS CHIPMUNK & OTHER TALES

This is a book of absurdist fiction. Like a kaleidoscope, absurdism allows us to view reality differently, confronting the absurdities of life and perhaps even celebrate them. The first part of the book recounts the adventures of Athos the chipmunk, which include his traveling to the moon with his magician friend Murva, and his joining Columbus-the-chipmunk in sailing across a local pond to "discover" a small island they then call "America". The second part consists of short-shorts. Some of them are magical in nature, others may be read as celebrations of life, still others are clearly borderline. There are also pure fantasies, such as Captain Gulliver Puchner's mission to Mars, where he discovered the architectural remnants of an ancient Roman settlement and encountered a small robot talking in Latin.
