the Advocate and Adversary

The battle lines are drawn the moment we pledge our allegiance to our advocate. We have an adversary who is, as 1Peter 5:8 warns, "seeking to devour us." This is not something for us to fear, but to be mindful of. An advocate actively favors or fights for one who meets opposition. In John 14-18. Jesus tells His disciples He will send another Helper to them when He returns to the Father.
