the Alchemy of Law: From Promise Justice to Procedural Domination A Critique Contemporary Legal Reason

What remains of law when it separates itself from justice? The West has described legal modernity as a passage from force to rules. Yet when law loses its ethical foundation, procedure can become power's most refined language and make injustice appear formally impeccable. Moving through Beccaria and Foucault, natural law and sovereignty, Eastern Legalism, postcolonial thought and algorithmic governance, The Alchemy of Law examines the distance between compliance and justice. It asks how responsibility, prudence and human dignity can be restored to the institutions that govern common life. The volume is a speculative collaboration between Nicola Christian Rinaldi and various AI within Project Moseshai, with human critical direction and responsibility.
