The Archive of Unfinished Lives

In a forgotten wing of an ancient archive, biographies are stored unfinished. Each volume ends mid-sentence. Each life waits for a final paragraph. When archivist Elowen Marrow discovers a book bearing her own name, she realizes the archive is not preserving lives - it is shaping them. The more she reads, the more reality rearranges itself around her. Sentences appear in ink that was never written. Contracts demand payment in narrative form. And somewhere beyond the shelves, something watches from the margins. With the help of a skeptical night guard, Elowen must confront a system that feeds on unfinished stories and turns identity into paperwork. To survive, she must do the unthinkable: write back. But editing fate has consequences. If she refuses to be cataloged, the archive will attempt to make her its author - or its next permanent entry.Gothic, cerebral, and hauntingly intimate, The Archive of Unfinished Lives explores the terror of being observed, the cost of authorship, and the fragile line between identity and erasure. Some stories end.Others are filed.
