Foot pain and discomfort when walking are among the most common reasons for referral to orthopaedic practices. However, affected patients often struggle through daily life for years without receiving a proper assessment or treatment. This is despite the fact that, in the vast majority of cases, a correct diagnosis and appropriate treatment can lead to lasting and sustained success. The aim of this pocket guide is therefore to familiarise interested patients, therapists, GPs and trainee orthopaedic surgeons with the most common foot complaints and to explain the underlying pathologies in an easily understandable way.
