The Bicycle Racer is an enlightening story about an exceptionally gifted athlete, Nick Milano. His career as a star running back for his college team and destined to be drafted by the National Football League, ended when he suffered a serious leg injury in an automobile accident. During his rehabilitation, his friend Rollie Fields, former wide receiver college colleague and professional cyclist, suggested that Nick accompany him on a bike riding exercise. Rollie recognized that Nick had all the attributes to becoming a competitive, professional racer having the speed, power, discipline, and determination to win. His attitude and approach to competition as a professional cyclist was different than most.
