Bol Part culinary memoir, part irreverent manifesto, dished up by Malaysian migrant chef Lorna Lee - for when everybody gives you a bloody recipe. For a single migrant mother raising three hungry boys with no instruction manual, long kitchen shifts became survival. From her nenek's kitchen to professional kitchens, Lorna Lee serves up stories and recipes with dry satire. It's burnt nasi goreng, cold cups of kopi, migrant life, motherhood and labels that don't quite fit. Along the way, you're handed rules that you've expected to follow, with a fair amount of bullshit stirred in.This isn't a cookbook. Well... not exactly.Because sometimes you need to abandon the recipes you've been handed. You taste. You adjust. You... Agak-agak lah!
