The concept of Free Will in Schopenhauer

In its bodily objectification, it is the opposite pole of the brain, which is the focus of knowledge. For Schopenhauer, sex fatally disturbs pure contemplation, and knowledge renounces sex, commanding: "If your eye scandalizes you, pluck it out." In no other way, Schopenhauer asserted, could we save ourselves from the task, we would even say from the Script, that the sexual cycle of nature has entrusted to us. No object of the will can provide us with definitive satisfaction, not even the body of the opposite sex. Satisfied desire resembles the alms thrown to the beggar, which only serves to prolong his misery until the next day.
