The Cook's Scrapbook

Sometimes it is good to return to old cookery values, to meals of deceptive simplicity that depend on skills handed down and good, old-fashioned ingredients. This is the kind of cookery you make time for, the kind that is a joy to create and a shared pleasure to serve. As The Cook's Scrapbook grew, so too did the surprise and delight that so many great recipes remained to be culled from notes and snippings treasured down the years. Altogether there were more than 400 recipes that, gathered together, became a delightful glimpse of the past and an excitingly new cook book for today.
