The curious Melon: Twenty-two gentle stories for hearts

The Curious Melon Collection of twenty-two gentle stories for children aged 7-9 Vita Harwood You Only Have to Look Closely Some stories are made for slowing down. The Curious Melon gathers twenty-two tender tales for children aged 7 to 9, written to be read aloud at bedtime or discovered alone on a quiet afternoon. In these pages a melon turns its back on the only field it has ever known just to glimpse a garden; a nameless robot learns what it means to care; a little house on wheels finds a family at last; and a bee discovers that the language of her hive is a dance. Across three sections - Garden and Home, The Small and the Curious, and Those Not Everyone Sees, Vita Harwood writes with a lyrical, unhurried voice that trusts children to feel deeply. Every story turns on kindness, courage, friendship and the quiet wonder of the natural world, from tide pools and beehives to mountain forests and moonlit ponds. Gentle illustrations accompany each tale, making this a keepsake collection to grow up with. Perfect for: bedtime reading, classrooms, thoughtful gifts, and any child who looks twice at the world.
