The Dragon Riders of Blackhaven

The story follows Kael, a young man from Blackhaven who discovers that the legendary dragons thought to be extinct for three hundred years are still alive beneath Mount Veyr. When the mountain awakens and dragons return to the skies, Kael learns from his father that his grandfather was secretly a Dragon Rider and that Kael has inherited the ancient bond that allows humans to ride dragons. Chosen by the legendary black dragon Vaeron, Kael is thrust into a forgotten war when a terrifying crimson dragon emerges from the mountain and reveals that the ancient Dragon King has awakened. With hundreds of dragons rising and Blackhaven threatened, Kael must overcome his fear, learn to master his bond with Vaeron, uncover the truth about his grandfather and the disappearance of the original Dragon Riders, and become the rider he was destined to be. As the Dragon King gathers his forces for war, Kael and Vaeron must unite the remaining dragons and riders, confront the darkness buried beneath Blackhaven, and fight to prevent the return of an ancient power that could destroy the kingdom and plunge the world into another age of dragon war.
