The use of mental imagery to improve movement execution is common practice in the world of dance. The main aim of this study is to determine whether mental imagery of a dance sequence, accompanied by the corresponding motor action, facilitates its execution. It was also hypothesised that it influences the sense of self-efficacy. Twenty-five participants, divided into three groups of equivalent age and ability, received different treatments: relaxation (control), imagery with movement, and imagery without repetition. This work is intended for anyone interested in the effects of mental imagery on self-efficacy, whether in the context of dance performance, sport or other activities.
