The Erotic Soviet Alphabet

This is not your pre-school's book of ABCs! Drawing on a deep appreciation of the Greek and Roman art of antiquity, People's Artist of the USSR, sculptor Sergei Merkurov, privately produced this collection of erotic illustrations of the Russian alphabet in 1931. Though the details of this book's origins are shrouded in mystery, it retains tremendous value as an unusual burlesque artifact for those intrigued by the intersection of sex and culture in times past.Featuring over 35 full color prints of naked men, women, satyrs, and disembodied penises with wings arranged to depict Cyrillic characters as inventive sex positions, this alphabet-primer-turned-sexual-playbook will make for a delightfully naughty conversation piece on the coffee table of the sexually liberated household.
