The Family Feeling

One warm summer day, Rena Ford spends thirty minutes on her favorite trail, twenty minutes folding laundry, and ten minutes cleaning the kitchen. The next three minutes change everything. Her alcoholic husband attacks and Rena fights back. Desperate, she grabs a leaded crystal bowl and swings. He falls to the floor-and never gets up. His death is ruled accidental, the result of drunken impairment and disease. Rena is free. But she knows the whole truth.Fifteen years later, Rena has built a solitary life around her art, her guilt, and the careful avoidance of anything that might disturb either. Then, a young woman appears claiming to be family and demanding answers about two seemingly unrelated children. Rena retreats deeper into her personal fortress.Tragedy further threatens those walls, and a brutal turn of events makes isolation impossible. Forced to confront the past, Rena must decide how much she is willing to risk to protect herself, or save others and possibly lose everything.
