The Family Portrait: Who or What is Discipling Your Heart

What if one of the greatest paintings ever created has been asking you questions all along? For centuries, Rembrandt's The Return of the Prodigal Son has captivated the hearts of millions. Inspired by Jesus' timeless parable in Luke 15, this extraordinary masterpiece is far more than a beautiful work of art; it is a portrait of every human heart. In The Family Portrait, Pete Robertson carefully walks through Rembrandt's painting and Jesus' parable, uncovering the remarkable details, symbolism, and biblical truths hidden within both. As each figure on the canvas comes to life, you'll begin asking questions that have the power to transform the way you see yourself, others, and the Father.- - Which character in the painting am I today?- Who-or what-is discipling my heart?- Why do both rebellion and religion leave us empty?- What does it truly mean to come home to the Father?- How do we help others discover their place in the Father's family? You will never look at Rembrandt's masterpiece or Luke 15 the same way again.
