the FIRST THINGS of JESUS: How Lord Glory Began: Threshold Moments Son God

Every volume of THE FIRST ONES has traced the firsts of the servants of God. This Special Edition capstone turns to the firsts of the Lord Himself. Here are the sixteen threshold moments of the eternal Son of God-the inaugural acts, the first crossings, the moments that had never occurred in the history of the universe before they occurred. The first Word that called all things into being. The first manger. The first day of the new creation. The first temptation withstood. The first sermon from the mountain. The first disciple called. The first miracle at Cana, where water became wine and glory was manifested. The first I AM. The first healing. The first raising of the dead. The first tears of God at a grave. The first entry into Jerusalem. The first words from the cross. The first day after death. The first appearance of the risen Lord. The first commission of the Church.Read separately, each is a window into the Lord. Read together, they form one cumulative argument for the deity, the preeminence, and the sufficiency of the firstborn of all creation and the firstborn from the dead. This is not a survey of the life of Jesus. It is a theological portrait, built one threshold at a time, of the One in whom all things were created, in whom all things hold together, and in whom every first in human history finds its fulfillment and its meaning. The argument builds across sixteen chapters and does not release until the final commission has been given and the mandate of the Church has been established on the unshakeable authority of the risen Lord.In everything He is preeminent. These are His firsts.Rev. Dr. Billy J.
