THE FOREIGNER IN MY BODY: A Journey from Addiction to Freedom

At thirteen, Lauren Cole accepts what his uncle calls a way to take the edge off. By sixteen, Lauren and his mother have left Delano Court for a quiet town, a better school, and a second chance. For a few bright months, he begins to believe he can outrun the addiction that followed him. Then he meets Tyson Vance, a wealthy, reckless boy whose friendship feels like rescue. On the night a robbery turns deadly, Lauren arrives late to a party that never existed. His friends run from the scene, the police find Lauren among them, and a courtroom mistakes his past for proof. Tried as an adult and sent to prison for a crime he did not commit, Lauren must confront the foreigner inside him before it claims the future he once dreamed of. The Foreigner in My Body is a story of addiction, wrongful conviction, faith, mercy, and the stubborn light that refuses to go out.
